I sure hope the rain falls soon and the fires die out so no more lives are affected.

I'm so happy for your family that your hubby found a job and he's looking forward to it. I agree about it being difficult on the man because he tends to be breadwinner in most families, too. We've had our share of job loss over the years and it is never easy and is a huge strain on the entire family.
I'm sure it is such a relief to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
As a family who does have a weekend Dad, I can say that it's not that bad. It's certainly much easier than when my hubby was doing the truck driving job for over a year. We'd be lucky then to see him once a month for a day or two.
And it's got to be easier than what the military families go through when they sacrifice a spouse to serve for a year or more overseas.
You'd be amazed at how well kids adapt and how it makes the reunions oh so much sweeter.

My hubby has been working in Phoenix for over 6 months now and he's home for 2-3 days every week. It's always a big deal when he comes home because we use that time so much better than if he was home 24/7. We usually plan a fun dinner and some kind of activity we can do together as a family each week when he comes home....for us that's usually camping, hiking, letterboxing, playing games, going to the park, playing sports and video games....and so on. Whatever the kids want and we enjoy together. It's serious quality time over quantity time.

~LisaLaughing Orca Ranchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03562627840013868980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6371458020564881376.post-58099018025506316502011-09-13T16:36:14.124-05:002011-09-13T16:36:14.124-05:00Prayers for everyone in Texas. Hopefully, all the inconveniences that go along with the change in distance will work themselves out quickly and smoothly. I wish everyone could get back to having normal lives without constantly being under the threat of losing their jobs, their homes, their horses...Nuzzling Muzzleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07649710635013663900noreply@blogger.com
