News: We are not moving

Recently I got a promotion at work. The downside is that it would require us to move to Dallas.

I have not been excited about the prospect of moving. This promotion had been in the works for some time, however they really took their time, went back and forth over and over.

In the meantime, I started to look around and found an incredible opportunity. Right when my current company tabled the promotion and I thought, hey, that looks interesting over there. Great job, equivalent to the promotion, and in my home town for a great company!

The promotion came through, but I kept my toe in the water for the other. We prepared to move after the holidays.

Then, right at Christmas, I got it, I was offered the job here at home. And I decided to take it and step away from the company I've been working for (and loving very much) for six years. Still, I've never felt more confident about a decision.

Most importantly we don't have to move from a community I really, truly love.

And that, my friends, is good news.
