How to wash your horse's face

I made an interesting discovery on Wednesday.

Cibolo doesn't like the spray around his face. But he loves his face rubbed.

So I put the nozzle directly on his face and turned the nozzle on very gently, and proceeded to give him a facial.

And he loved it.

I think I'm going to have a horse with the cleanest jowls in the stables. :)

Ha! That is a funny/ wonderful enlightenment!
I jsut bought me one of those tiny, round rubber curries...it is sooo soft..Wa just loved it...she really put some effort to make sure I got ALL of her face and ears and nose...I think I will be satisfied, for now without water.

Your Award looks good!

Most horses don't seem to like being sprayed in the face - and when I think about it I can't see why they should, although I'm seen exceptions - we had a gelding once named Dawson who loved to have his face sprayed and also loved to drink from the hose. I usually just use a wet cloth or sponge to face wash. But you had a creative solution that he seems to have really enjoyed!

Whatever works... Washing a horse's face, or even a dog's face for that matter, can be quite a chore.

Face washing sucks! I always get more wet than they do, even when using a sponge.....all that water just runs right down my arm, into my shirt sleeve, and soaks me. Luckily my girl lets me spray her forehead and doesn't mind!
